Kayaking Meeks Bay to Emerald Bay Lake Tahoe
You can put in your kayak at Meeks bay. Â If you park along the highway, it isn’t too long of a portage to reach the beach. Â From there, it is a 7 mile paddle (one way) into Emerald Bay. Â Most of the route is quiet with the exception of the entrance to Emerald Bay – where power boaters enter and exit rapidly. Â You can exit your kayak at Lake Tahoe’s only island: Fannette Island. Â You can explore the stone house at the top of the rock. Â Also, along the route, there are a number of rocks which you can climb and jump into the lake. Â They are of varying height – perfect for all skill levels!
